Acosta criticises 2027 Sprint format: “It could shorten careers”
The KTM rider fears the new Sprint-related qualifying setup could place too much strain on MotoGP riders.
Pedro Acosta has issued a warning about MotoGP in 2027. The KTM rider believes the planned format for qualifying linked to the Sprints could make race weekends even more demanding and “shorten careers”.
The series is preparing for a major rule overhaul, including 850cc engines and aerodynamic changes. Acosta did not oppose the technical evolution itself, but raised concerns about the possible increase in physical and mental strain caused by the race schedule.
