Alfa Romeo Stelvio: Italian charm, but Germans are still ahead
Alfa’s SUV stands out for driving pleasure and character, yet it falls short of German rivals in refinement and everyday usability.
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio remains one of the most enjoyable SUVs to drive: quick steering, a lively chassis and a personality that comes through immediately. On the road, it delivers a level of involvement that is hard to find in this class, especially for buyers who value driving feel over pure comfort.
Against the best German alternatives, however, some weaknesses become clear: the cabin feels less polished, the tech isn’t always as strong as the competition, and practicality is not quite as convincing. In short, it is a car with real character, but not the most complete in the segment.
