Auto industry’s 2027 rebound will depend on affordability
Car makers are betting on lower prices and easier financing: without affordable monthly payments, the market may stay stuck.
The auto sector is looking at 2027 as a possible turning point, but any recovery will not happen on its own. Analysts say the real factor will be affordability: if prices stay too high, sales volumes could struggle to recover.
To win buyers back, automakers will need more budget-friendly models, aggressive finance deals and purchase costs that are closer to household incomes. In Italy, where price is still one of the biggest barriers to changing cars, the issue is even more important.
