Cars, more price hikes ahead: the industry reaches its cost limit
Automakers continue to announce increases. Raw materials, components and shrinking margins are pushing vehicle prices higher.
New price increase notices continue to spread across the automotive market. Pressure is coming from higher raw material, component and production costs, while intense competition keeps manufacturers’ margins under pressure.
The trend mainly affects electric vehicles, which remain at the center of a price-driven commercial battle. For companies, passing at least part of the additional costs on to customers is becoming necessary to protect profitability. Italian buyers could also feel the impact through higher list prices and less generous offers.
