Ducati forced to miss Phillip Island with WorldSBK rider stepping in
A Ducati rider will sit out the Australian Grand Prix. The team has selected a WorldSBK contender as his temporary replacement.
Ducati will be without one of its riders for the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island. The absence changes the balance of the weekend and leaves less room for error at one of the most demanding circuits on the MotoGP calendar.
To fill the vacant seat, the Italian manufacturer will promote one of its WorldSBK representatives. The substitute will make a temporary MotoGP debut and must quickly adapt to the bike, tyres and procedures of the premier class.
