Electric motorcycles: the Italian market accelerates by 40%
Registrations of battery-powered two-wheelers hit a record jump, driven by incentives and new models.
The Italian electric motorcycle market is enjoying a golden moment. In the first six months of the year, registrations of battery-powered scooters and motorcycles grew by 40 percent compared to the same period last year, beating even the most optimistic analyst forecasts.
Demand is being pushed mainly by new models with ranges above 150 kilometres and falling prices, as well as regional incentives that in some areas cover up to 30 percent of the purchase price. Cities, with their restricted traffic zones, remain the main battleground.
Manufacturers are responding with an ever-wider range: from urban scooters to sporty nakeds, right up to the first battery tourers designed for long motorway journeys.
