F1, from 2027 races will be shorter: maximum distance cut by 15 km
Formula 1 is preparing new technical and sporting rules, including a small reduction in the maximum length of Grand Prix races.
From 2027, Formula 1 will also introduce a small cut to the maximum race distance, reduced by 15 kilometers. The aim is to make Grands Prix more sustainable from a logistical point of view and better suited to the championship’s modern format.
The change is part of a broader package of updates already planned by the series. For Italian fans, used to following an increasingly busy calendar, the spectacle will barely change, but the rules will keep evolving to balance tradition, costs and innovation.
