F1, FIA and AWS join forces as AI enters future car design

The FIA and Amazon Web Services have signed an agreement to explore the use of artificial intelligence in the design of future Formula 1 single-seaters. AWS cloud technology will be assessed as support for the Federation’s technical and engineering activities.

The aim is to use AI to analyse data, simulate solutions and make the processes involved in defining cars and regulations more efficient. The project will not hand development over to machines, but will provide FIA specialists with faster and more advanced digital tools.
