F1, heat alert for the Bahrain GP in Sepang
The FIA has introduced a new protocol: with high temperatures, teams must better manage drivers and strategy.
Formula 1 has classified the Bahrain Grand Prix as a heat-risk race, after checks on the weather conditions expected for the weekend in Malaysia. The decision comes with extra guidance for teams and drivers, who will have to deal with tougher temperatures and humidity than usual.
For the paddock, that means extra attention to hydration, cooling and cockpit management. In a calendar that is becoming busier and with extreme conditions increasingly common, F1 is aiming to reduce health risks without changing the sporting balance.
