Formula 1: Bahrain Grand Prix declared a heat-hazard race
The FIA has activated its hot-weather protocol, allowing teams and drivers to use additional cooling measures.
The FIA has classified the Bahrain Grand Prix as a heat-hazard race. High temperatures and a heat index above the regulatory threshold are expected at Sakhir, conditions that can increase the physical strain on drivers.
Teams will be allowed to use additional systems to help cool their cars. Drivers will also have access to specific equipment, including cooling devices, as part of the protocol introduced after safety concerns emerged at hotter races.
