Honda aims to make removable electric motorcycle batteries universal
The Japanese brand is pushing a shared standard: lower costs, easier use and a possible turning point for e-mobility
Honda is pushing to turn swappable batteries for electric motorcycles into a common solution across several manufacturers. The goal is straightforward: cut costs, make charging easier and improve everyday usability, especially in city traffic.
If the project were to expand to other brands, riders would see a major change: no long waits at charging stations and the option to swap the battery pack quickly. For the Italian market, this could be an important step, because a shared system might speed up the spread of zero-emission two-wheelers.
