Honda’s Swappable Batteries Could Power Many Electric Motorcycles
Honda is working on interchangeable batteries: a shared standard could simplify charging and the use of electric motorcycles.
Honda is developing removable batteries for its electric motorcycles, aiming to make replacement quicker than traditional charging. The system could reduce downtime and make zero-emission vehicles easier to use in cities.
The most interesting prospect is possible adoption by other manufacturers. A shared format would make it easier to create common swapping stations and a compatible energy network, an important step in expanding electric two-wheeled mobility.
