Indonesia speeds up e-motorcycle push with three state companies
A partnership between state-owned groups aims to support the spread of battery-powered two-wheelers across the country.
In Indonesia, three state-owned companies have joined forces to give fresh momentum to the country’s electric motorcycle program. The goal is to strengthen production, infrastructure and the uptake of zero-emission vehicles in Southeast Asia’s largest two-wheel market.
The initiative is part of Jakarta’s energy transition strategy, with e-motorcycles seen as a key tool to cut congestion and pollution in big cities. It is a model that could also interest other emerging markets, including Italy, where attention to sustainable urban mobility is growing.
