Los Angeles moves against e-dirt bikes disguised as e-bikes

In Los Angeles, pressure is growing on so-called e-bikes that are actually electric mini dirt bikes. For many residents and police, the line between an assisted bicycle and a motor vehicle has become too blurred, with machines capable of going very fast on streets and bike lanes.

The crackdown aims to restore order in a very popular market among young riders, but one that often operates outside the rules. In Italy, the issue is similar: if a vehicle exceeds the limits of an electric bicycle, it cannot be used like a standard e-bike.
