Malaysia: car sales jump sharply in September
The Malaysian market accelerated thanks to stronger new registrations, even as the year-on-year comparison remained positive.
In September, vehicle sales in Malaysia rose 19%, showing a market that remained solid after the late-summer slowdown seen in several Asian countries. The jump covered both cars and other registered vehicles, supported by domestic demand.
For the industry, it is a meaningful result: Malaysia is still delivering stronger growth than many mature markets. For carmakers, the trend also offers a useful regional signal, with Asia continuing to be a key volume area.
