MotoGP, 37 points in sight: the maximum weekend haul
With a Sprint and a Grand Prix, a rider can score up to 37 points: that was the target set for the weekend.
Under the current MotoGP format, the maximum haul from a weekend is 37 points: 12 in Saturday’s Sprint and 25 in the main race. That was the figure identified as the target before the event.
A perfect score, however, requires winning both contests and finishing the Grand Prix. The Sprint awards points to the top nine, while Sunday’s winner takes the full 25, meaning every mistake can have a major impact on the championship standings.
