MotoGP: building the calendar is an almost impossible challenge
Dates, logistics, contracts and international constraints: organising the MotoGP calendar requires constant balance.
The MotoGP calendar results from a complex mix of sporting and commercial demands. Every event must fit circuit availability, contracts, television agreements and requirements set by host countries.
Transport, safety, weather conditions and tight gaps between races make the task even more delicate. Dorna must also coordinate teams, riders and organisers, while trying to contain costs and travel without harming championship competitiveness. A seemingly simple schedule is therefore the result of months of negotiations.
