Michelin has revised its tyre strategy for the Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi after problems emerged in the Sprint. The behaviour of the rear tyres, including degradation and pressure management, convinced MotoGP’s sole supplier to alter the planned allocation.

For the main race, riders will therefore have an additional rear option available, allowing them to choose a solution better suited to a distance twice as long as the Sprint. The decision aims to provide greater safety and more room for management on the Japanese circuit, known for heavy braking and frequent acceleration zones.
