MotoGP, Phillip Island final race cancelled due to rain
The Australian round ends without a proper race: a parade lap will replace the final MotoGP showdown.
The MotoGP weekend at Phillip Island has ended without a real race, as the weather forced organisers to cancel the final event in Australia. Race control chose not to send the riders out for safety reasons.
A parade lap was held instead, giving the riders and teams a chance to acknowledge the Australian crowd. For the paddock, though, the weekend finished with disappointment and no on-track conclusion.
