2026 MotoGP Qatar GP: why Yamaha is not entering a wildcard
The Japanese manufacturer will not add a bike to the Lusail grid, while its regular teams remain fully involved.
Yamaha will not enter a wildcard for the 2026 Qatar Grand Prix. The absence therefore concerns an additional bike, not the manufacturer’s official championship programme.
Its regular machines will still be present at Lusail, fielded by the factory team and its satellite operation. The decision is part of the normal management of seasonal entries and does not indicate a withdrawal or technical or sporting problems for the Japanese manufacturer.
