Ocon and Haas at the end of the road: why the partnership collapsed
Underwhelming results and disagreements over the project’s management strained the relationship between the French driver and the team.
The Esteban Ocon-Haas partnership has reached its end after a season that fell short of expectations. According to The Race’s reconstruction, the car’s performance and the team’s difficulty in turning technical potential into results increased frustration on both sides.
Growing differences over the team’s priorities and the driver’s role in development also appear to have played a part. It was therefore not one isolated incident, but a combination of tensions that made it impossible to continue beyond the current project.
