OnStar evolves into GM’s AI assistant, debuting in the Cadillac Lyriq
General Motors is turning OnStar into an artificial intelligence-powered voice assistant. It will debut in the Cadillac Lyriq.
General Motors is preparing a new phase for OnStar, the US group’s connected service. The system is evolving into an artificial intelligence-based assistant that can communicate with drivers through naturally phrased requests.
It will debut in the Cadillac Lyriq, the brand’s premium electric SUV. In addition to providing information and support, the assistant will help manage some vehicle functions while maintaining links to OnStar services. The initiative marks one of GM’s first steps towards a more personalised and interactive in-car experience.
