Polestar considers LFP batteries for its zero-impact car goal
The Swedish automaker is evaluating lithium-iron-phosphate technology to reduce the environmental footprint of future EVs.
Polestar is considering the use of LFP, or lithium-iron-phosphate, batteries as it works toward producing a car with net-zero emissions. This technology could help lower the environmental impact of manufacturing and reduce reliance on materials such as nickel and cobalt.
The move is part of the Swedish brand’s strategy to make the entire life cycle of electric vehicles more sustainable. Polestar has not yet confirmed which models will receive these batteries or provided a precise timeline.
