Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: strengths, flaws and why it gets attention
The new Indian adventure bike impresses with character and agility, but it still comes with a few compromises in daily use.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 raises the bar over the previous generation: more power, a revised frame and chassis tuned for both tarmac and light off-road riding. Its 450 single-cylinder engine feels livelier and makes overtakes and extra-urban stretches easier.
Its key strengths are a natural riding position, versatility and a competitive price. Still, there are some limits: the weight is noticeable at low speeds, the finish is not always flawless and wind protection could be better. For riders after a simple, honest dual-purpose bike, it remains a very appealing option.
