Suzuki DR-Z4S: The Engine Is Already 25 Years Old
The new Japanese enduro uses the 398cc single-cylinder engine introduced with the DR-Z400 in 2000.
Suzuki has unveiled the new DR-Z4S, but beneath its updated bodywork lies an engine that is far from new. The enduro uses a 398cc four-stroke single derived from the DR-Z400, which reached the market in 2000.
The powerplant has been updated with fuel injection and modern electronics, but its technical foundation is 25 years old. The choice prioritizes simplicity and reliability in a motorcycle designed for off-road riding and journeys away from paved roads.
