Tesla Roadster: SpaceX package could make it take off
The electric sports car promises extreme performance and brief lifts using compressed-air thrusters. But its launch is still far away.
The new Tesla Roadster is targeting more than outright speed. A possible package developed with SpaceX could add compressed-air thrusters capable, at least in theoretical demonstrations, of briefly lifting the car off the ground. It is a spectacular idea, but still far from production.
First presented in 2017, the electric sports car has yet to reach the market. Tesla continues to postpone its launch and has not announced a definitive date. Before thinking about driving it, enthusiasts will therefore have to wait for further testing, homologation and technical confirmation.
