Tesla Roadster: Nine Years After Its Debut, the Launch Is Still Delayed
Unveiled in 2017, the electric supercar was expected in 2020. Tesla still has not set a definitive production date.
Tesla unveiled the second-generation Roadster in 2017, promising hypercar-like performance and a market launch by 2020. That schedule has been missed for years, and the model has still not entered production.
The company has continued to postpone the project without announcing a final date for first deliveries. The Roadster therefore remains one of Tesla’s longest-running and most uncertain programs, despite the ambitious initial claims about acceleration, range and performance.
