Toyota raises forecasts and prepares major shareholder return plan
The Japanese group improves its full-year outlook and announces shareholder distributions worth around 13 trillion yen.
Toyota has raised its full-year forecasts, supported by the strength of its business and its ability to maintain high volumes despite uncertainty in global markets. The Japanese group has also unveiled a shareholder remuneration plan worth around 13 trillion yen, equivalent to nearly $89 billion.
The strategy combines dividends and share buybacks. The announcement confirms Toyota’s intention to return part of the cash it generates, as the automotive industry faces rising costs, the transition to electric vehicles and increasingly aggressive competition from China.
