Turkey: Electrified cars exceed half of all sales
During the first nine months of the year, electric and hybrid models reached 52% of Turkish new-car registrations.
The energy transition is accelerating in Turkey’s automotive market: between January and September, electric and hybrid cars together accounted for 52% of new-car sales. The figure includes both battery-powered vehicles and different hybrid technologies.
The result points to a rapid shift in consumer preferences, reducing the share of conventional powertrains. Turkey is therefore becoming increasingly important for manufacturers expanding their low-emission ranges, supported by the growing availability of new electrified models.
