UK electric car sales hit a September record
Registrations of fully electric cars rose 36% in one month, reaching around 45,000 units.
The UK electric car market accelerated sharply in September. New registrations of battery-powered models rose 36% year on year, passing the 45,000-unit mark and setting the best result ever recorded for the month.
The traditional autumn number-plate change also helped lift overall volumes. Electric cars therefore accounted for roughly 16.6% of the British new-car market, confirming the continued growth of zero-emission mobility in the UK.
