Ultraviolette and the difficult gamble of electric two-wheelers
The Indian startup is trying to carve out space in the EV market with performance-focused bikes and global ambitions.
Ultraviolette, a young Indian manufacturer, is betting that an electric motorcycle can be appealing as well as efficient. The brand is investing in performance, design and technology to stand out in a sector still dominated by traditional big players.
The challenge, however, is huge: developing an EV from scratch requires capital, supply chains and long timelines. For Europe, and especially Italy, Ultraviolette’s case shows how difficult it is to turn an ambitious idea into a competitive product that can be sold on a global scale.
