VENTRA, the electric car that collects tyre dust
From a Dutch university project comes a concept designed to tackle one of the least visible yet most widespread sources of pollution: tyre wear.
TU/ecomotive, the Eindhoven University team, has unveiled VENTRA, an electric concept created to capture the dust produced by tyres while the car is moving. The aim is to address a problem that is often overlooked: particles released through tyre wear, which are considered a major source of urban pollution.
Still at an experimental stage, the car shows how electric mobility can go beyond zero tailpipe emissions. In Italy, the issue is especially relevant because city traffic and the growing weight of cars make tyre abrasion an increasingly important environmental concern.
