For many riders over 60, switching to a Honda Gold Wing is far from an obvious choice. Harley-Davidson and Indian touring bikes that weigh close to 900 pounds remain favorites because they deliver a low riding position, strong road presence and an emotional bond built over decades on the road.
There is also the desire to keep riding “their” bike without giving up the character of the V-twin and the appeal of long-distance travel. The Gold Wing is more refined, but for many American enthusiasts it does not carry the same charm as traditional large baggers.
