A 10-year agreement between Rwanda and Formula 1 will bring the championship back to Africa after the 1993 South African race.
Rwanda will host a Formula 1 Grand Prix in the early 2030s. The country has reached a 10-year agreement with the championship, paving the way for the return of the world’s premier single-seater series to Africa after the last race held in South Africa in 1993.
The final circuit and exact date have not yet been announced. The project places Rwanda within Formula 1’s global expansion strategy, increasingly focused on new venues beyond traditional circuits.
