GM bets on in-car AI: digital assistant expected in 2027
The American brand is developing an intelligent assistant for its cars, with a debut planned on future models by 2027.
General Motors is working on an artificial intelligence assistant designed to interact with the driver directly inside the car. The system is expected to arrive on the brand’s models from 2027 and aims to offer more natural voice commands, with features tied to navigation, infotainment and vehicle control.
The move follows the industry’s race toward increasingly advanced digital solutions. For the European market, including Italy, it means cars with interfaces closer to a smartphone, but also new challenges linked to software updates, privacy and the reliability of connected services.
