Ford puts its new EV’s bet on price, not incentives
The American brand wants its future electric model to win buyers with a sharp list price, a strategy that matters in Europe too.
Ford is shaping the new Fathom EV around one clear idea: win customers with a competitive price, not with tax incentives. That approach could also make it more appealing outside the United States, in markets such as Europe where purchase bonuses are often unstable.
The move shows a shift in the green-car race: to really convince drivers, an EV needs a lower entry cost and a solid product, not just temporary support. For Ford, the real challenge is to make the car accessible and convincing on its own merits.
